A RITE

THE CHANNELING

Hum a line and the rite channels it back as a real instrument riff — in key, in time, yours to shape. It runs on your own machine and forgets your voice when it is done.

1 · OFFER YOUR VOICE
Hum, whistle or sing one clear line — one note at a time, 3 to 12 seconds.

REAL — SAMPLED
Actual recorded instruments. First pick of each loads its samples once, then it is instant.
SYNTH / MIDI

SHAPE THE TONE — on the chosen instrument

Tone and Level shape both paths. Attack and Release shape the synth envelope most.
4 · CHANNEL, PLAY & EDIT
changes apply live · drag notes to edit

Drag a note up/down to repitch, left/right to move, drag its right edge for length, double-click to delete. Key, scale, tempo, grid and style re-channel from your hum and reset edits; instrument, feel and tone keep them.
5 · TAKE THE RELIC
The MIDI relic carries your edits and the feel into any DAW. The WAV renders through the chosen instrument.
The Channeling runs entirely in your browser and forgets your voice when it is done. A seed, not a sermon — trust your ears last.

The Channeling — free hum-to-instrument riff maker

The Channeling is a free, browser-based tool that turns a hummed melody into a real instrument riff. Hum, whistle or sing a line and the rite detects the pitch, snaps it to your key and tempo, and plays it back through real sampled instruments — guitars, basses, piano, strings — or synth voices. Shape the tone, choose a tight Grid or a legato Flow feel, drag notes to edit, and export MIDI or WAV. Everything runs on your own machine; nothing is uploaded.

What it does

The Channeling tracks the pitch of a monophonic melody you hum or record, note by note, and rebuilds it as a playable riff. It snaps notes to the key and scale you pick, tightens timing to a tempo grid, and voices the line through either real sampled instruments (steel, nylon, clean, muted and overdrive guitars, finger, pick and upright bass, piano, electric piano, organ, strings, pizzicato, marimba) or synth voices (leads, pads, basses, chip, FM). You can shape attack, release, tone and level, switch between a crisp Grid feel and a gliding Flow feel, and drag individual notes in the roll to fix pitch, timing or length. Export a MIDI file that opens in any DAW, or a rendered WAV.

How to use it

  1. Hum, whistle or sing one clear line, or upload a voice memo.
  2. Pick the key, scale, tempo and style.
  3. Choose a real or synth instrument, set the feel, and shape the tone.
  4. Press Channel & Play — tweak anything and it keeps playing; drag notes to edit.
  5. Download the MIDI relic or the WAV.

What it is good for

  • Turning a melody stuck in your head into a usable riff
  • Getting a MIDI line into your DAW without playing an instrument
  • Sketching basslines, toplines and hooks by voice
  • Hearing an idea as a real guitar or bass instantly
  • Songwriters who can sing an idea but not notate it

Questions

Is it free?

Yes. Every rite on MEME PLUGINS is free to use.

Does it turn my humming into MIDI?

Yes — it detects the pitch of your hum and exports a MIDI file you can drop into any DAW, with your edits and feel intact.

Can it sound like a real guitar or bass?

Yes — it plays back through real sampled instruments, and you can shape the tone. For a finished record the exported MIDI through your own DAW instruments is still the highest-quality path.

Is my audio uploaded?

No — pitch detection and playback run entirely in your browser and the audio is forgotten afterwards.

Can I fix a wrong note?

Yes — drag any note in the roll up or down to repitch it, sideways to move it, or by its edge to change its length.
